The Amazing Spider-Man (2012) - this is another reboot of the well-known Marvel superhero film 5 years after the last trilogy was released. This version is directed by Marc Webb and starring Andrew Garfield as Peter Parker/Spider-Man and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy, Peter’s first girlfriend. The reinterpretation of Spider-Man from the childhood of Peter Parker and his frustration of teenagers life is well represented. The script is well written - it refreshes the familiar story-line with a touch of its own identity. The film maintains a good balance of drama and action as well as some comedic moments.The ensemble of cast delivers a fine performance especially veteran actors Martin Sheen and Sally Field in the role of Peter Parker’s uncle and aunt. All in all, it is a very enjoyable film that serves well as a platform for the next film. I am looking forward to the sequel.
